The firefighters were called a little before 2 p.m. for a shed fire which broke out on the Route de Roche Brune, in Montreuil-le-Chétif.
According to the mayor, on site at the end of the afternoon, the hangar was completely destroyed
. It was a 200 m² mixed-use hangar, serving as both storage and housing.
The owners are retirees who travel a lot. They were preparing to spend the winter in the sun. Fortunately, when the fire broke out, they were taking a nap in their camper van parked a little further away

Still according to the elected official, the firefighters have not yet determined the cause of the fire. 21 firefighters were dispatched to the scene as well as six vehicles, including one equipped with an aerial lifting arm.
At 6:30 p.m., they were still on site to ensure that the fire did not restart.
