A fire broke out around 1 a.m. on the night of Friday October 11 to Saturday October 12, 2024 in a 2,500 m2 agricultural shed, at a place called Vreac’h Coat, in Coray. The building, filled with straw, was completely destroyed but there were no injuries and the causes of the fire are not known at this time. At the height of the disaster, around thirty firefighters were on site, with teams from Coray, Trégourez, Elliant, Saint-Goazec, Morlaix, Douarnenez, Leuhan, , Bannalec, Briec, Scaër and Concarneau. Firefighters from were also called, due to chemical risks due to fertilizers stored in the building.

A damaged 20,000 volt line

On site, a large capacity tanker truck was necessary because there is no fire hydrant in the area. Three vans, an ambulance with support and command vehicles were also deployed.

Furthermore, the company Enedis went to the area, a 20,000 volt line having been damaged by the disaster.

The firefighters are expected to remain on site until the end of the afternoon, the gendarmerie was also present, an investigation is open to determine the causes of the fire on this farm where a family lives.
