VILLENEUVE-LÈS-AVIGNON Architecture in celebration, to see “from another angle”

The 13th edition of Architecture en fête opened this Friday evening at the Chartreuse de Villeneuve, kicking off three days of thinking, marveling and playing around architecture.

L’architecture, “reflection of our history and our vision of the future”asks the deputy regional director of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Marc Daniel. We are in the middle of Architecture Month, “with 150 events in the 13 departments of the region”he recalls, with a purpose: “making architectural issues accessible to as many people as possible. »

In this case at the Chartreuse, it is a question of addressing the theme of living, sustainable, desirable, fair and passable cities for all, “maintaining good living together”summarizes the mayor of Villeneuve Pascale Bories. In a town with a remarkable heritage, whose Protected Area will evolve, notably by integrating “the preservation of landscapes”says the elected official.

To address these issues, Architecture en fête offers a rich program, with workshops for children, exhibitions, including one proposed by the Echangeur 21 artist residency, meetings and an artistic performance, of which a performance was given opening this Friday evening. Called “Tafta”, it is offered by the Chaussons Rouges company, from Belgium.

A tightrope walking performance in the heart of the cemetery cloister, the opportunity to “see from another angle” the architecture of the Chartreuse, says its director Marianne Clévy. A suspended moment, which will be offered this Saturday at 4 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., and Sunday at 7 a.m., at sunrise, and at 11 a.m. All free, like all Architecture en fête events, but by reservation for the 7 a.m. session here.
