The Greater Chalon Urban Community has just won the Territoria Or 2024 Prize in the “actions in favor of children and adolescents” category, for its Mam incubator. Project to which we devoted an article last spring.

In order to stem the decline in the number of childminders in the region and to encourage early childhood professionals to open their own Mam by facilitating their procedures, Grand Chalon opened an innovative structure in 2023, which still does not exist in . . This Mam Assistant House incubator welcomes for at least 3 months in a dedicated and equipped place, maternal assistants who wish to test their Mam project in real conditions while benefiting from specific support (administrative, budgetary and educational) to set up their structure. Six groups of professionals have already been able to benefit from it or are still supported, and two new Mams have been established in the area.

Recognition of a project that has proven itself
The Territoria Or prize rewards innovation, the ability to be taken up by other communities and the good use of public funds for this system, among nearly 180 candidates. For Sébastien Martin, president of Grand Chalonthis prize recognizes “the high quality of the work provided” by the teams. “I believe that this incubator has sufficient potential to help other territories in France which also want to support this profession and strengthen the density and quality of their childcare offering”he encouraged.
