The new Opel Grandland costs less than the 3008

After the new 3008 and while waiting for the C5 Aircross, it is Opel’s turn to renew its Grandland family SUV, in a second electric and hybrid generation. And its prices are rather attractive.

Iron crossing between the brands of the Stellantis group in recent months.

Between city cars and SUVs, Stellantis is on all fronts

While Fiat has just announced the French prices of its new Grande Pandaan electric city car which closely derives from the new Citroën ë-C3, is also moving towards large family SUVs, in the C segment. The new Peugeot 3008, and its 100% electric derivative e-3008, has been a standout on the subject, by inaugurating the new STLA Medium platform (segment C and D), compatible with electricity, micro hybrid gasoline, and plug-in hybrids. Ultimately, all general manufacturers in the group will be entitled to their own variation, in particular Fiat and Citroën whose second generation of the C5 Aircross should be shown next week at the Motor Show, in the form of a pre-series concept. And the group’s fourth mainstream brand is of course Opel! If the Russellsheim firm has not yet unveiled its electric city car, it has, however, been among the first when it comes to family SUVs, since the second Grandland of the name (don’t call it Grandland X anymore) was presented at the beginning of the yearand today reveals its prices for . Spoiler, they are more attractive than those of its cousin Peugeot 3008…

The Opel Grandland from €37,000

Where the Sochaux SUV starts at €38,490 in the 136 horsepower micro hybrid version, the Opel Grandland asks for €1,490 per month: from €37,000 in entry-level finish called Edition. This comes as standard with 19-inch rims, cruise control, automatic air conditioning, a 10-inch central touch screen Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatible, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, and electric mirrors. The GS finish (€40,400 in hybrid) adds Matrix LED projectors, a reversing camera, heated front seats, a more generous central screen (16 inches), and a bright grille, among others. For the electric Grandland, two battery sizes are offered: 73 kWh/523 km range, 82.2 kWh/585 km. For the first, you will have to pay a minimum of €42,490 in Edition and €44,990 in GS, while the second is only offered in GS version, billed at €45,990. And, as it will be produced in Eisenach in Germany (Thuringia), it should logically be eligible for the ecological bonus of €4,000. For the rest, the plug-in hybrid version will arrive laterand should use the architecture of the 3008 PHEV (195 horsepower, 87 km range).

It is neither configurable online nor available for order yet, but it should not be long now that its prices are known.
