SAccording to our colleagues at Sudinfo, storm Kirk is already causing damage in Belgium and mainly in Couvin, where the center of the city is partially underwater. A small stream overflowed, causing flooding on the roadway. The technical service and emergency area are on site.
In Chimay, the village of Baileux is also affected by several road floods. The same situation is currently taking place in Rièzes, Viroinval and Doische, where several roads are impassable or difficult to pass due to heavy rains.
The peak of the storm was in fact expected this evening, with a lull overnight, according to the latest forecasts. The provinces of Namur, Liège and Luxembourg are still on orange alert for heavy rain until 9 a.m. Thursday morning. The rains will be especially heavy in the south-east of the country, forecasts the IRM, which states that they will have to calm down at the end of the night before moving towards Germany.
