The tragedy played out yesterday afternoon in Ouakam, in the commune of Dakar, where a two-story house, located just opposite the gendarmerie, collapsed around 3 p.m.

According to SeneNews sources, the building was occupied by tenants at the time of the incident. Emergency services, alerted quickly, were deployed by the national fire brigade to carry out rescue operations.

Unfortunately, one death was recorded. The victim was identified as Mamoudou Mballo, a national of Kounkandé. The tragic event highlights growing concerns about building safety in the capital, where falling buildings have become all too common in recent years, exacerbated by a property boom often marked by lax regulations.
