This Wednesday, people claiming to be part of the “DZ Mafia”, a clan of drug traffickers from the city, published a video to deny their involvement in the latest murders committed in Marseille, in particular that of a VTC driver. The prosecution opened an investigation.

Like a South American cartel, people presenting themselves as the DZ Mafia of Marseille published a press release this Wednesday on social networks. Dressed all in black with hoods covering their eyes and disguised voices, they deny any responsibility in the death of the VTC driver, Nessim Ramdane, shot in cold blood by a 14-year-old hitman. The members claim that this incident was orchestrated with the aim of damaging their image.

An ongoing investigation

In this video of one minute and thirty seconds, the person with the modified voice assures that “for several days false information has been circulating in the media on the facts which occurred between last Wednesday and Friday. The press release from this Wednesday is made with the intention of reestablishing the truth” particularly regarding Hacène L.

They explain that this 23-year-old inmate made false revelations. According to information from ParisianHacène L. would have confided to the courts that he worked for the DZ Mafia and was the instigator of several murders involving children. “The fourteen-year-old child as well as the use of the VTC to commit a crime has nothing to do with our methods. We have enough men, vehicles, means to act”, firmly defends the unknown in the video while describing Hacène L. as “sick and mythomaniac”.

“Marseille investigators from the cybercrime unit are already working to analyze the document,” indicates our colleagues from 20 Minutes and the Marseille prosecutor’s office opened an investigation.
