This Wednesday, October 9, the Marseille prosecutor’s office indicates that it has opened an investigation into the head of “criminal association with a view to the preparation of crimes and offenses relating to organized crime”.
This opening of an investigation follows the broadcast on social networks of a video in which individuals presenting themselves as members of the DZ Mafia gang refute the involvement of this organization in the assassinations of a 15-year-old teenager and a 37-year-old VTC driver committed between Wednesday October 2 and Friday October 4 in Marseille.
The DZ Mafia claims to have “nothing to do” with the facts
In the images broadcast this Wednesday, individuals dressed in black, hoods on their heads and faces hidden, stand behind a desk covered with a white flocked canvas “DZ MAFIA”. One of them speaks, facing the camera and with a modified voice. “False information has been circulating in the media and on the networks for several days”he begins before explaining that the aim of this communication is to “restore the truth”.
After addressing his “condolences to the families of the deceased”this masked speaker assures that the DZ Mafia does not want minors to be involved in cases linked to crimes or drug trafficking.
Concerning the acts committed last week, he affirms that “the DZ Mafia has nothing to do with anything that happened”.

The investigations into this video were entrusted to the Interdepartmental Judicial Police Service (SIPJ) of Bouches-du-Rhône and the Anti-Cybercrime Office (OFAC). They aim to authenticate this video and identify the people who are behind it, the prosecution said.
