In her memoirs, Melania Trump says she maintains a very good relationship with King Charles III, to whom she regularly sends letters.

Melania Trump, this Tuesday, October 8, published her biography soberly entitled “Melania”. She reveals her journey, anecdotes about her life at the White House, her political positions, but that’s not all. The former First Lady revealed that she maintained a letter-writing friendship with King Charles III.

The two couples met at a charity event in New York, during an official trip by King Charles III, then still Prince of Wales, and his wife Camilla, in 2005. It was only 14 years later late that their paths crossed again. Donald Trump’s wife recalls his last official visit to the United Kingdom in 2019. “Donald and I hosted an intimate dinner in honor of Prince Charles and the Duchess at the residence of the United States Ambassador “, we can read in an extract from his work, shared by “Vanity Fair” on October 8. Melania Trump says it was “an absolute pleasure reconnecting with him,” adding, “This time we had an interesting conversation about his deep commitment to environmental conservation.” »

If Prince Charles has since become king, following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, his friendship with Melania Trump seems to continue. “Our friendship with the royal family continues and we exchange letters with King Charles to this day,” says the former model.

“You must write what you believe in”

While Donald Trump is in the middle of the presidential campaign, Melania Trump’s memoir seems to go against her husband’s beliefs. The couple did not always share the same political opinions. In an extract from the book, published by “The Guardian”, we can read: “Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her body? A woman’s fundamental right to individual freedom, to her own life, gives her the power to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes. » An opinion at odds with that of her husband.

Questioned on the subject, Donald Trump assured that he had encouraged his wife to express herself sincerely. “We talked about it and I told him, ‘You have to write what you believe in, I’m not going to tell you what you have to do,’” he told Fox News on Thursday.
