The company Briand metal constructions is requested to comply. In a decree dated September 24, 2024, the Vendée prefecture put it on notice for three lack of compliance in its Herbiers factory. The installations are classified for environmental protection.
During an inspection carried out on July 27, DCPATE agents (1) noted that “cans containing products likely to generate pollution” were “stored without retention”. Problem: this negligence is “likely to significantly degrade the environment, particularly the soil”.
Electrical installations are in the sights. In fact, they “are not maintained and kept in good condition”, what can “result in a risk of fire or explosion”. The company has already been informed of “some of these non-conformities” three times and from October 2021.

Third sticking point: “The entire paint application activity is carried out without mobile cabins within the workshop”, what “does not correspond to the authorized situation”. This change should have been “brought to the attention of the prefect” et “may possibly require additional prescriptions”.
The prefecture grants the company a period of three months, from notification of the order, to prove that everything is in order. Contacted by the editorial staff, Briand metal constructions did not respond.
