This Tuesday, October 8, shortly before 7 a.m., a company van exploded in Entre-Deux while a young driver was inside. Seriously burned, he was rescued by another young man named Pierre who also performed first aid before help arrived.
“I was right next door when I heard the first detonation. When the 2nd one came, I tried to get the driver out of there. With the firefighters, I did first aid. The victim was transported a little further. I then used a water hose to try to slow the flames before a fire apparatus arrived,” testifies Pierre.
The driver, seriously burned, was taken to hospital in critical condition. Without Pierre’s intervention, the victim would not have been able to be taken care of. A heroic act.
