The Department of – whose council headquarters is in Orléans – will spend the day this Wednesday October 9, 2024in yellow vigilance from 3 a.m., then vigilance orange for rain and flood from 10 a.m.

It will be maintained all day and will be extended depending on weather conditions.

Significant precipitation

Météo is indeed announcing precipitation between 40 et 60 mm on the territory in the coming 72 hoursthe equivalent for the upper range, of an average month of October of rain.

Gusts of wind that can reach up to 60 km/h are also expected tomorrow morning and early afternoon.

These bad weather conditions can therefore cause potential flooding in risk areas, of the unusual flooding of streams and ditches as well as possible sewerage network overflowswhich can in particular cause a rise in water levels in basements.

Given these forecasts, Sophie Brocas, Prefect of Loiret would like to point out a few instructions and preventive actions such as:
