A broken family and colleagues in shock. This Monday, a young 24-year-old peacekeeper, assigned to Essonne, ended his life with his service weapon on an A86 ramp in Rosny-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis), shortly after hitting his partner, at home, in Montereau-Fault-Yonne (Seine-et-Marne). A suicide which calls out so much this gesture seems disproportionate in relation to the reason and the brevity of the argument, which does not detract from the violence committed. The young woman, who was injured in the eye, has already been released from the hospital.
Was this the only reason for this desperate act? We ignore it. Monday evening, the Saint-Denis motorway Republican Security Company (CRS) was seized while the Montereau-Fault-Yonne national police station was responsible for an investigation into domestic violence. Investigation which will be cut short after the tragic outcome of Monday evening.
It all started early Monday afternoon when local police were called by a neighbor for a 25-year-old pregnant woman who had been hit by her partner. The latter allegedly caught her smoking and hit her in the face before fleeing with his car. Very quickly, the police learned that he was a peace guard assigned to the public highway at the Evry-Courcouronnes police station (Essonne) since September. He had left the police academy as recently as last July.
While the young woman was taken to the Montereau hospital center, a general appeal was launched on the airwaves to find the police officer on the run. The description of his car, an Audi, is broadcast. Spotted for the first time by a patrol, he refused to comply, continuing his route towards the north of Ile-de-France.
At the end of the afternoon, some 80 kilometers from Montereau, he stopped his vehicle on the side of an A86 ramp and took out his service weapon… The emergency services were unable to save him and his death was pronounced around 5 p.m.
