Bernard Pivot is dead. The television man, praised for being able to interest viewers in new authors and recognized for his two shows which have become cult, Apostrophes on Antenne 2, in the early 1970s, then Culture broth in the 1990s, will be buried in a region that he had cherished for a long time: that of Beaujolais.
Died in Neuilly-sur-Seine on May 6, 2024 (the day after his 89th birthday), from cancer, Bernard Pivot saw his wishes respected since his funeral will take place at the beginning of next week and more precisely in Quincié- en-Beaujolais (Rhône), where he always said he wanted to be buried.
