The fourteenth edition of the Run in was held this Sunday, October 6 in the streets of the Cité des Gones and crowned Maxime Tesch with a marathon time of 2h24’24, after only two years of running. In total, more than 30,000 runners took part in the four distances of the program. We watch all the podiums of the event together!

On the Quai Romain Rolland, in front of the Lyon Court of Appeal, at 8:25 a.m., the first runners of the half and marathon on the starting line were ready to do battle. Because if for many it is a festive and friendly event to challenge themselves, for some on the contrary it is a real competition. Hence the performance of Maxim Tesch who reached the finish arch at Place Bellecour in a nice 2h24’24. The Start Running backpacker considerably lowered his time for the third time in a row on the Rhône-Alpes event: 27th with 2h51’47 in 2022, 5th with 2h32’37 in 2023… and therefore 1st with 2h24’24 this Sunday.

The 24-year-old doctoral student in epidemiology, who has only two years of experience in running after having walked the basketball courts for 13 years, showed superior mastery over the competition, relegating his first pursuer to six minutes: Vincent PoCzekajlo (2h30’30) and Nicolas Work (2h31’40). Among women, a big victory for Louise Loisel below the three-hour mark, in 2h57’10, while Julie Granjon (3h02’30) et Lucie Dupont (3h04’04) accompany it on the box.

Julien Rabaca and Maëlle Lacroix sovereign in the semi

The times were also particularly interesting in the half-marathon. These are well-known faces of national asphalt who distinguished themselves with the victory of Julien Rabaca (1h05’44, Athletic Club Secteur Monistrol), ninth in the 2023 French Championships in , who did not let up his effort until the finish, crossed thirty-two seconds before Sven Durand (1h06’16, Montpellier Athlétic Méditerranée Métropole), 2023 French junior champion over 10 km. Third place goes to the stage local Julien Devane (1h06’54), French half and marathon champion in 2019. The cross-country skier from Décines Athletics Maëlle Lacroix flew through the women’s competition in 1h18’34, exactly one minute off her reference mark. The protégé of Bastien Perraux climbed onto the podium alongside Jeanne Garreau (1h19’47) and Charline Micoud (1h19’54).

And two for Anthony Frontera over 10 km

The winner’s cup did not change hands over 10 km: Already winner of the 2023 edition (30’22), Anthony Frontera offered himself a new success over the shortest distance of the program by negotiating the deal after a little more than 30 minutes of resistance (30’05). The resident of the Athletic Club du Lyonnais was joined a few seconds later by Edward Dupas (30’49) et Clement Garçonnet (31’03). The Parisian of the Zoom Volt Runners Laurina Ark was the fastest by covering the 10 terminals in 35’57, and won the prize ahead of Astrid Moreau (37’18) Amélie Bongrand (37’34).

Although the rain arrived early in the morning, making the road slippery, this did not dampen the enthusiasm and motivation of the 30,000 running enthusiasts present this Sunday, adding up the participants of the 10 km, half-marathon, marathon and the Solidarity Run. The 2025 edition of the Run in Lyon will take place on October 5. Registrations will open in January.
