We sometimes forget it, but Romelu Lukaku still belongs to Chelsea. The Blues should part ways with him permanently this summer.

Two years ago, Chelsea spent no less than 113 million euros on Romelu Lukaku. But the Blues have resolved to see him leave for a much lower amount this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the club is open to a final sale in the coming weeks. The amount requested corresponds to a departure clause negotiated a year ago, valued at nearly 45 million euros.

A price which may seem low for a player who still has two years of contract remaining in London and who has passed the 20 goal mark this season. But the biological clock is starting to tick: the market value of Romelu Lukaku on Transfermarkt is now equal to his age (30 years).

A future still very undecided

On the Blues side, there is also a desire to get rid of a player who has become an embarrassment to the club. The clause is not only valid for the Romewhere Big Rom is on loan this season: each interested club can enter the dance as they wish.

Which will not fail to fuel rumors this summer, starting with Italian football, which is already sending him to another major Serie A club.
