Death of Dr Dioubaté: the order of doctors demands the opening of a judicial investigation and reserves the right to become a civil party (Declaration)

In a statement published this Friday, October 4, 2024, the National Order of Physicians of Guinea notes that it learned with dismay and deep sadness of the unexpected death of Dr. Mohamed DIABATE, Pediatrician, Head of Department at the Kankan Regional Hospital, death occurred on September 26, 2024 at the Central House of Kankan under unclear conditions.

The death of this doctor who was himself ill and followed for 3 years in the Psychiatry department of the Donka National Hospital did not benefit from care which was refused to him. He did not benefit from any medical consultation, much less from release due to the incompatibility of his mental state with detention.
After following with indignation the declaration of the Prefect of Kankan, the ONMG asks the public prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Kankan to open a judicial investigation in order to clarify the circumstances of the death of Dr DIABATE.

Also, the ONMG notes that it reserves the right to form a civil party and to set up a collective of lawyers responsible for defending its interests.
