Vehicles are now reduced to hulks. On April 29, 2024, a fire destroyed the three cars of the same family of Vendin-le-Vieil (Pas-de-Calais)next to Lens. A young man was arrested then taken into custody.
The author was the ex-partner of the daughter of the family
The events took place around 12:30 a.m. The suspect set fire to a vehicle parked in front of a house in Vendin. The flames spread to neighboring cars, belonging to the same family. One of the victims, the girl, saw the fire through the window but it was already too late.
Firefighters intervened to put out the fire which was attacking the facade of the family’s home and that of a neighboring house. The police opened an investigation and identified the perpetrator, a 22-year-old young man from the North. he is also the ex-companion of Vendinoise. Arrested and placed in police custody in Tourcoing, the individual did not wish to explain himself to the officers. He will soon be summoned to the Béthune judicial court.
