“I’m delighted that C8 is stopping”. This is what Thierry Ardisson declared on October 4, 2024, in the columns of TV Mag. Former host and producer of Canal +, he tackled Cyril Hanouna and his gang of “paid columnists“, whom he had already accused of making “trash TV”.
To our colleagues, he confided, ironically: “It will save Vincent Bolloré money. He has still lost 368 million euros since the creation of C8! And the channel loses 45 million euros per year!”
Furious with Charline Vanhoenacker
An interview which is not surprising, as the man in black hates his former boss, who fired him after 13 years of good and loyal service.
At the time, however, Thierry Ardisson did not really appreciate that people were happy about the end of his own show. It was 5 years ago. And Charline Vanhoenacker then told the Parisian: “I’m glad it’s over because it was very nasty. There hasn’t been a week where we haven’t made fun of him.”.
Thierry Ardisson then responded to him, face to face, on France Inter: “What she doesn’t know is that there is nothing to celebrate, it puts 100 people out of work. As you are on the left, this must bother you a lot, you like people. There are 100 people who no longer have a job. I knew you a lot funnier.”
And added, furious: “I didn’t find it funny, because being happy about the end of a show, especially a show that tries to raise the debate, I don’t understand your attitude. You tried to do TV, it lasted two weeks. I did 34 years of television with some success, so I don’t give a damn about Charline’s lessons!”.
Thierry Ardisson did not understand the wickedness of rejoicing
Two years later, when the show of his best enemy had also stopped, Thierry Ardisson then enjoyed it. He had declared “Charline Vanhoenacker was delighted with the end of “Salut les Terriens” on C8. She was angry about the theme: “Yeah, Ardisson, he’s fired! Bolloré fired him!” With the Belgian accent, it’s even worse!”
And to conclude: “I’m not mean enough to be happy about what’s happening to him, but it makes me smile“.
