For stamps purchased in booklets, rolls or sheets — the most sold according to Canada Post — the price increases to 99 cents per stamp, an increase of 7 cents. “The price of a domestic stamp sold individually increases from $1.07 to $1.15,” adds Canada Post.

The rate increase also affects other products, including Letter Post shipments to the United States and the international system and Registered Mail service for the domestic system.

It is good to know that the rates for “Domestic Lettermail” have only increased twice in the last 10 years, by 5 cents in 2019 and 2 cents in 2020. Canada Post indicates that the The last significant increase dates back to March 31, 2014.

“As Canada Post is financed by revenues from the sale of its products and services, and not by taxpayers’ money, rate changes are a reality,” specifies the Crown corporation. “Canada Post understands the importance of its delivery service and strives to minimize the impact of rate changes on customers by ensuring that any increase is fair and reasonable,” she adds.
