Nick announces to his mother and Imogen that he loves Charlie

At the end of season 1 ofHeartstopperNick announced to his mother that he was bisexual and that he had feelings for Charlie. We therefore find our two lovebirds in the first episodes of season 2 without any cloud on the horizon. However, Nick wants to announce to his closest friends that he is in a relationship with Charlie. To get through it, he decides to announce it to his childhood friend Imogen. The machine is launched, it is during a sleepover organized by Charlie that Nick plans to announce the news to his friend. Eventually, Imogen asks Nick the question herself, explaining that it’s pretty obvious that something is going on between him and Charlie. Nick also wishes to announce his bisexuality to his older brother David, however the latter’s derogatory and unpleasant attitude creates tension between them.

What’s going on between Elle and Tao?

If it was always indisputable that Elle and Tao had a special bond, it was strengthened in season 2 ofHeartstopper. Indeed, She realizes that she has feelings for Tao, but is unable to know if these are shared by the main person concerned. On the advice of Tara and Darcy, She tries to flirt with Tao. Unfortunately, this is not a success for the teenager, not because Tao feels nothing for her friend, but because the latter is very shy and because he fears that all this will harm to their friendship. Finally, Tao, who is sporting a new haircut, ends up inviting Elle to the movies. However, nothing goes as planned… She didn’t appreciate Tao changing in an attempt to please her, notably by choosing a film that only she likes and by revealing his new haircut. An argument ends up breaking out, which leaves the future of the potential Elle – Tao couple in suspense.

Charlie’s grades plummet and Nick confronts Ben

While Charlie announces to his parents that Nick is not just a friend, but indeed his boyfriend, his father decides to establish new rules. He explains to Charlie in particular that from now on, the door to his room must remain open when the teenager comes to visit him. The reluctance of Charlie’s parents will be reinforced during the parent-teacher meeting organized in Truham. Indeed, Charlie’s teachers have noticed that he is less and less concentrated, that his grades are falling and that he still has not handed in certain important assignments. His parents therefore decide to deprive him of going out and more specifically of Nick until he has handed in his homework.

Meanwhile, Nick has to study for GCSEs, an exam that all year 11 students take before going to university so they know what they want to study. As chance sometimes makes things go wrong, Nick finds himself paired with Ben. This will create friction between the two and of course, the main reason is the adorable Charlie. We will later learn that Ben is leaving Truham, and that he will therefore not be present next year, which means that we will not see Ben’s character in season 3 of Heartstopper.

The trip to

The event most awaited by the whole group of friends was obviously the school trip to Paris under the supervision of Mr Farouk and Mr Ajayi. So here is Isaac, Tara, Darcy, Charlie, Nick, Elle, Tao, Sahar and Imogen heading to the French capital, to discover the Eiffel Tower. Several notable events took place during the trip to Paris.

First, Nick accidentally gave Charlie a hickey. Therefore, all their classmates tried to find out who could have left such a mark on Charlie. After careful investigation, the students came up with James, the only other student besides Charlie who came out as gay, as their one and only option. Later, during the surprise party organized in one of the hotel rooms for Tara’s birthday, Nick announces to the group that he is bisexual. In fact, the teenager couldn’t stand hearing everyone ask Charlie to kiss another boy or to admit who had given him this famous hickey.

As for Elle and Tao, while they haven’t spoken since their argument, their friends have hatched a plan to leave them alone in Montmartre to observe the different works of art. A success, since it leads them to become friends again. Besides, good news for Elle, since she was finally accepted into the Lambert art school.

Nick gradually discovers Charlie’s eating disorder, especially after his boyfriend passes out several times after not having eaten anything for a whole day. Eventually, Nick manages to see his father again, although it only lasts for a short while.

What is going on in Isaac’s love life?

In season 2, Isaac appears to become closer to James, another student who works with him in the library. While everyone knows that James is gay, Isaac has never indicated anything that could lead James to his sexual orientation. In episode 7 of season 2 which takes place in Paris, Isaac and James kiss. However, Isaac reveals to James that he doesn’t really know how he should feel and that he thinks he’s not interested in him, and even more generally that he doesn’t imagine being interested in anyone. . If James simply thinks that Isaac hasn’t found the right person yet, there is another option for Isaac.

When he wanders through the Lambert art exhibit, he finds an installation celebrating asexuality and aromantic people. It is a revelation for the young man. Finally, in the last episodes, we see him reading a novel in which the main character explores the theme of asexuality. He then went to the Truham library, where he borrowed another book on the subject.

Is everything okay between Tara and Darcy?

If the union between Tara and Darcy has always been, on the surface, a solid couple, Tara realizes that she does not know that much about Darcy’s life. His concerns grow when Darcy disappears from the radar on prom night. Finally, the teenager shows up towards the end of the evening and explains to Tara that she had to sleep in a park after an argument with her mother. Indeed, Tara’s mother still does not know that her daughter is in a relationship with another girl, and, in addition, she made a remark about her prom costume which, according to her, made Darcy look A “lesbian look”. In the end, everything worked out between the girls.

I love you ?

On prom day, Nick decides to post a photo of him and Charlie on Instagram, with the caption “little friends. After the prom, the group of friends goes to Nick’s house to end the evening. As Nick and Charlie talk about the tough times Charlie had to go through after making his coming outNick appears to be about to say “I love you” to his boyfriend. Just like Charlie, who, on the way home, starts writing a message to Nick to tell him he loves him. This is how the last episode ends, without ever knowing if Charlie will send this message or not.
