YVERDON SPORT TAKES VENGEANCE AND BEAT HIS RIVAL!

The Yverdon Sport players took their revenge on Lausanne-Sport, who won 3-1 at La Tuilière on February 17. They won by the same score for this fourth act of the season!

Yverdon Sport had secretly planned to look high for the Lausanne-Sport players to potentially surprise them quickly in this game. The last duel between the two teams was decided on the start of the match and on the psychological ascendancy that it is possible to obtain to the detriment of your opponent by achieving a great start. Instructions applied to the letter: after an exceptional initial nineteen minutes, YS led 3-0 thanks to a headed goal from Kamenovic and a double from the inevitable Kevin Carlos. The derby was launched, the people of Lausanne stunned. Yverdon Sport had just done the hardest part and had not planned to give up its advantage.

Football has its codes, derbies their share of irrationality. This completely crazy start to the match was difficult to explain, but it embodied the desire of the Yverdon Sport players to quickly take the lead. After the first three goals, YS logically had to defend a little more and sometimes suffer the opposing attacks. It took a little success (a ball which crashed into the post), and a little class too, that of Paul Bernardoni, author of an XXL and very important save just after the third goal signed Kevin Carlos .

An important step towards maintenance!

The waves were therefore positive around Yverdon Sport before this very important derby. The supporters had come to training the day before to give their voice one last time and make the players aware of the symbolism of this duel. The reduction of the score in the 60th minute by Dussenne from the penalty spot, combined with the expulsion of Mohamed Tijani for a second warning, changed nothing. Without playing the game, in inferiority, Alessandro Mangiarratti’s men held on in front of the 3,800 spectators at the Municipal Stadium. The fruit also of excellent defensive organization and an incalculable number of duels won.

These three points from the victory allow Yverdon Sport to overtake their neighbor in the ranking and occupy 8th place in the ranking with 43 points. Next weekend’s duel at La Pontaise against SLO could be the one to maintain.
