For reasons still undetermined, a violent fire broke out, around 1:30 a.m. on the night of Saturday May 4 to Sunday May 5, in a building at Les Fleurs de Grasse, route de Cannes.

Apparently starting from a balcony on the ground floor, the fire quickly spread to the upper floors.

Although many residents had already left the building when they arrived, the firefighters were informed of the presence of three people, trapped on the fourth floor.

Fifteen people relocated

Ultimately, four residents were rescued, unharmed, from the building, where three apartments were severely affected by the fire.

On arrival, fifteen people, notably evacuated from the neighboring building, were able to return to their homes. Fifteen others will have to be rehoused.

The intervention, coordinated by the City of Grasse and the CCAS, required the presence of 28 firefighters and around ten engines. The national and municipal police were also on site, as well as Enedis agents.
