the essential
May à Vélo, an opportunity to reconnect with your bike and get back on the handlebars with complete confidence.

At the heart of this event dedicated to soft mobility, the Midi-Quercy region offers free training to get back in the saddle and bicycle repair workshops for all two-wheel enthusiasts.

Getting back into the saddle training: These training courses will take place on Saturday May 18 in Caussade at 9 a.m., in Nègrepelisse at 2 p.m., as well as on May 20 in Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val at 2 p.m. Supervised by the RED BIKE cycling school, these sessions are designed to help you find your bearings on a bike, regain confidence on the road and ride safely. Firstly, participants will be guided into a demarcated and secure space, where they will relearn the essential movements: pedaling, balancing, braking, stopping, etc. A route traced with plots will allow you to familiarize yourself with the different situations encountered on the road. Secondly, a walk will be accompanied by the trainer; the opportunity to put what you have learned into practice, by circulating in an urban environment; to interact with other road users and to use the facilities dedicated to bicycles in complete safety. Electric-assisted bicycles from the Midi-Quercy region will be made available, but everyone can bring their own. Beginner or not, these training courses are open to everyone. Meeting places when registering on 05 63 24 60 64 or [email protected]

Bicycle repair

A bike lying around in the garage or small mechanical problems that prevent you from fully enjoying bike rides? This month of May will be an opportunity to maintain your bike. On the Caussade market on Monday May 6, and that of Nègrepelisse on Tuesday May 14, the Apprentis d’Auteuil and their integration project Les Rayonnants will repair and maintain the bicycles. For an adjustment, a repair or simply for advice, they will help get the bikes back into perfect working order. Saturday May 25 in Caylus, bicycle repairer Gabriel Vest is offering a “bicycle health check-up” workshop. This professional in the field will offer a complete check of the bike in order to detect possible problems, carry out on-site small repairs necessary for the proper functioning of the bike, or advise on any major repairs to be made. An opportunity to give a second life to the bike and get back on the roads in complete safety. More information on: www.paysmidiquercy.fr
