This Tuesday, September 24, 2024 is undoubtedly a important day in the field of addiction in Seine-et-Marne. At the initiative of CSAPA (Care, support and addiction prevention) The Carrousel de brought together many professionals within the hospital center from Melun.

This meeting aimed to promote exchanges and connections between the different players in the sector, with the aim of improving the patient care pathway.

A meeting between structures

Almost a hundred health professionals specialized in the treatment of addictions were gathered within the Melun hospital center.

» It is an approach aimed at bring together all the players in the department which deal with the question of addiction in the different structures. It’s interesting for all the actors to know each other, because often everyone works in their own corner“, indicates Benoît Fraslin, director of the Hospitalier Sud Île-de- (GHSIF) group in Melun.

Dr Ismahen Sohbi, addictologist and head of CSAPA Le Carrousel, is at the origin of this event. Inspired by the Albatross Congress of Professor Amine Benyamina, she decided to create this day pour break the isolation that she noticed upon her arrival.

» When I took up my position as head of CSAPA, I found the center completely isolated, without contact with other structuresshe explains. So I decided to create this day to get to know each other, see ‘who does what’, share our experiences and why not pool our practices. «

Faced with a growing demand and one care offer still limitedthis day could well be the start of a transformation of the addictological landscape in the department.

The CSAPA Le Carrousel is an establishment which takes care of all forms of addiction. It has a young consumer consultation (CJC) for 12-25 year olds, a medical section specializing in the treatment of opiate addictionand a multidisciplinary team including psychologists and specialized educators.

“We specialize in addiction with and without substance“, continues Dr. Sohbi.

When we say with substance, we evoke heroin, cocaine, cannabis, tobacco, alcohol. Without substance, they are screen addictionsau sex, to jeux or to money.

A big new thing to come?

The day brought together a wide range of professionals ranging from psychiatrists has addiction doctors passing through the psychologists and the social workers or even the educators and actors of the prevention.

All expressed the need to exchange facing isolation and work overload that they know.

“Everyone is overwhelmed by the workload, and this time allows us to share our experiences,” explains Dr. Sohbi.

This addictology day was structured around the thematic of patient journey in addictionology. The objective is to coordinate the entire sector to ensure more consistent support and offer proper care. Given the success of this first edition, Dr Sohbi hopes to perpetuate the event and expand it in the years to come.

Furthermore, she unveiled a new project supported by the CSAPA and the GHSIF hospital: the creation of a day hospital for teenagers, with a capacity of 12 places.

Inspired by the existing structures at the Paul-Brousse hospital, this project only needs one more detail, but not the least: “There is no this type of structure in Seine-et-Marne. It is a project led by the CSAPA and the GHSIF hospital. All we’re missing is the premises.” she concludes.
