FC Brugge fulfilled its contract by securing its first victory on the European scene this season by beating Sturm Graz (0-1) this Wednesday evening in Klagenfurt, Austria, as part of the second day of the league phase of the Champions League.

After its inaugural defeat against Borussia Dortmund (0-3), FC Bruges took advantage of this away success to move up the rankings – and secure a place in the Top 24 – before their trip to AC Milan on October 22 next.

Much more inspired than their Austrian counterparts at the start of the match, the Blue & Black quite logically opened the score thanks to Christos Tzolis (23′ 0-1), who took advantage of poor timing from his direct opponent to recover the ball, fire a shot and go for the returning goal post.
