The Metz group for the meeting

Metz Handball has revealed the group which will take part in the meeting. No absence to note in this group of 15 “typical” players.

12:17:05

A three-goal lead

During the first leg, the Dragonnes won three goals in Bucharest. A meager lead at this stage of the competition but which will still have to be preserved at all costs in order to reach the Final 4.

12:19:54

A history between the two teams

Metz Handball and the CSM Bucharest have already met twice in the Champions League quarter-finals.

  • In 2018, it was CSM Bucharest who won by eliminating the Dragonnes.
  • In 2019, it was Metz Handball which was able to win to reach the first Final 4 in its history

The team that wins the confrontation in 2024 will therefore gain the upper hand in history between the two teams.

12:26:18

The CSM a “young” team which has already shone

THE CSM Bucharest is a relatively young team on the European stage. Founded in 2007, it won its first national title in 2015 before winning the first European title (and not the least) the following season: the Champions League.

Since then, the Romanian team has finished third in the European competition twice (2017, 2018) and has greatly expanded its trophy room with 5 additional Romanian championships (2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2023), 6 Romanian Cups ( 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023) as well as 5 Romanian Super Cups.
