After the Côte Fleurie 2024 rally which ended with the victory of Mickaël Reydellet, the rally returns to Augeron lands, to Mézidon, with the second of six rallies of the year (Saint-Germain August, Lisieux September, Beuzeville -Honfleur November and Pont-l’Evêque December).
“Already all permissions”
The Mézidon rally, on May 20, 2024, will therefore be the second act of the year in Pays d’Auge. The event, a monument in Normandy, will celebrate its 28th anniversary with a certain success: “It’s true” confides Chantale Lebel, the boss of the Mézidon rally: “We always manage to ride. I believe that in 28 editions, we have only canceled two specials. »
And this know-how attracts the confidence of the crews: “We already have 110 registered and this should continue to fill up in the coming days but we will not exceed 150 cars at the start. With mail and holidays, we should receive commitments until Friday (May 10, 2024). »
From the confidence of the crews, but also of the authorities: “We already have all the authorizations. We still have a few photocopies to make for the officials, but we are already ready. »
Two specials to be done three times
The 2024 edition of the Mézidon rally will take place on two sites to be negotiated three times: “We took the same route as that of the first edition. The first special will start from Magny-le-Freule and end in Ecajeul » underlines Chantale Lebel: “The second will connect Sainte-Marie-aux-Anglais to Authieux Papion. This makes two timed courses of approximately 7 kilometers to be done three times each. »
As for the entrants, the list is already full with a few names that inevitably stand out like Frédéric Guégan, Emmanuel Hervieu, Adrien Julien or even “Stéphane Pustelnik and Thierry Bonvoisin. »
