Elisor, if there is only one left…
Since Elisor arrived from Metz, Estac can finally count on a classy center forward. He is valuable in the finish and only needed a ball in the area, delivered perfectly by Dong, to send the ball with a sharp strike under the crossbar. An instinctive and precise gesture which put Estac on the right track. His fifth goal in Trojan colors.
Effective in front of the goal, he is also effective in the game. With his back to the goal, he carried out conservation work favoring the recovery of a block that was too low for his team. And when he is beaten in duels, he manages to make a mistake here and there. An intelligence symbolized by this action in the 42nd minute where he steps aside to release Saïd behind his back. Almost too altruistic when he chose to cross from behind rather than strike (51st), he could have been the one to keep hope alive if his header had not been diverted by Louchet (63rd).
Dong had set the tone
His speed opened gaps in the northern defense. Before being the decisive passer on the Trojan goal, he had already overwhelmed his opposite number and found Saïd in the 6th minute. Confident since his goal against Pau, he also tried his luck alone. His shot was unfortunately too crushed (32nd)
Zoukrou went on the offensive
We have never seen the U20 international so offensive in the right lane. After a relay with Diop, it is he who creates the gap on Elisor’s goal. All in power, he sought to create danger. On the other hand, his lack of “self-control” in the penalty area at the end of the first half (sliding tackle on Venema) could have cost a penalty. In the left lane, Boura defended correctly, but his offensive contribution was insufficient.
We didn’t like
Ilic, Saïd, Mchangama, the intermittents
They have the ball, but cannot convert this technical quality onto the pitch. Too slow, out of time, the Serb regularly mistimed his forward passes. With his back to the game, he was in difficulty in the duels. Logically replaced by Olaitan at the break, who, on one action was more dangerous than Ilic. A low shot which put Louchet in difficulty. A flash in the pan…
On the sides, Saïd did not manage to make the difference as he is used to. And when he had the chance to shoot on goal, he didn’t hit the target. Replaced by Ripart, ghostly, unable to change pace.
Finally, M’changama, preferred to Palaversa in place of Chavalerin (suspended) struggled in the midfield, tackling to compensate for his lack of speed. But the efficiency is not there. And his set pieces lead to nothing.
Diop, the strong man in the midfield for the month of April, was a step below, so much so that the Trojan midfielder did not exist.
Ndiaye, minimum service
We have said it again and again: this Ndiaye is the shadow of the one who left for the CAN. Even while providing minimum service in his raises, he was moved in one-on-one situations. He is not solely responsible for the Valencian goal, but, like Diop, like Zoukrou, he did not defend with conviction.
