A new “Pride March” organized in Rodez

The association “Alerts” Lesbiennes, Gays, Bi, Trans, Queers, Intersexes, Asexual & Allied Association was created in 2012. Through its numerous actions (support, prevention, culture and conviviality), it campaigns “ for equal rights and respect for difference and fights ignorance, fear, prejudices at the origin of the rejection of LGBTQIA+ people. »

Despite many recent advances in the rights of LGBTQIA+ people, the visibility, respect and inclusion of our community in the public space are still far from being achieved.explain the members of the association. Indeed, we note an increase in homophobic acts of around 28% between 2021 and 2022 (SOS homophobia). Also, the visibility of the LGBTQIA+ community is important, in order to affirm more kindness and tolerance in our society and our rural territories. Everyone should feel free to be themselves without fear of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, whether in the private or public sphere. »

For this third edition of Pride organized in Rodez, “Alerts” chose to underline this assumed pride of LGBTQIA+ people with the slogan: “Don’t get tired, we shine!” »

DR

It is unacceptable to judge, persecute or humiliate people “so-called” different, underline the organizers. Haters, conservatives, intolerant, don’t get tired, because we shine with our love, our solidarity, our identities. We campaign against withdrawal and fear of others to stop all forms of discrimination. At a time when the rights of LGBTQIA+ people are sometimes called into question in Europe and around the world (Poland, Hungary, Russia, Ivory Coast, United States of America, etc.), we must also be vigilant and campaign so that rights do not retreat and are respected by all for all. With this pride march, we want LGBTQIA+ people and our joyful, glittery and colorful culture to be visible. We will march in the streets of Rodez on June 1st, and call on all those who want to demonstrate, shine, fight against rejection and hatred, to join us. »
