the new electric SUV is much cheaper than the Niro

Kia is finally opening orders in France for the EV3. Its prices are much more attractive than those of the Niro EV!

Two weeks before its French debut at the Paris Motor Show, the Kia EV3 reveals its prices. This new 4.30 meter long SUV is equipped with a 150 kW engine, or 204 hp. It comes with two battery sizes.

The standard autonomy version has a 58.3 kWh battery. In the WLTP mixed cycle, it promises 436 km. In long autonomy, we have a battery of 81.4 kWh. Enough to reach 605 km, a very good value for a vehicle of this size. Be careful with pneumatic mounting. On the GT Line version, with 19-inch rims instead of 17, the large battery gives 563 km of autonomy.

As standard, there is an 11 kW three-phase on-board charger. For DC fast charging, be careful though: with the small battery, it’s 100 kW maximum. The big one is 120 kW. In addition, the heat pump is always optional!

• EV3 : 17-inch rims, electric and heated mirrors, dual-zone auto air conditioning, rain sensor, hands-free access/starting, 12.3-inch digital instrumentation, 12.3-inch touch screen, navigation, front/rear parking sensors, reversing camera , adaptive cruise control.
• Earth : EV3 + electrically retractable door handles, folding mirrors, blind spot monitoring, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, induction smartphone charger.
• GT Line : Earth + 19-inch rims, GT Line shields, customizable ambient lighting, hands-free electric tailgate, Harman Kardon audio system.

The costs

With a base price of €35,990, the EV3 is much more attractive than the Niro, which starts at €45,690. It also has 204 hp and a little more range (460 km). But its DC charging is limited to 72 kW!

Like the Niro, the EV3 is not announced with the ecological bonus. Which can bother him when faced with models who have it. For example, the Renault Scénic starts at €39,990 with a range of 420 km, but it has the bonus of €4,000, which puts it at the same price as the EV3. The latter has the advantage of a long range of more than 600 km from €40,990, compared to €42,990 for the Scénic 87 kWh battery, bonus deducted.
