This Thursday evening, three vehicles and a gas hydrant caught fire in the city center of Perpignan. Around fifteen firefighters intervened and brought the flames under control. It is currently unknown whether the cars or the gas hydrant caught fire first.
The firefighters intervened this Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m., rue Stendhal in Perpignan, following several vehicles on fire and a flaming gas leak. The Perpignan North and Perpignan West barracks were mobilized to limit the spread of the disaster. In total around fifteen men were dispatched to the site.
The origin of the fire remains unknown. And the firemen are wondering about the unfolding of the disaster.
It is very rare for a gas hydrant to catch fire. We do not know at this time whether the vehicles or the gas hydrant caught fire first.
