A 40-year-old man was on trial this Monday, September 30, 2024 at the Le Mans judicial court (Sarthe). During the fire in his apartment on Friday September 27 in Juigné-sur-Sarthe, he left without warning his neighbors of the danger and without calling for help. The flames spread and then required the evacuation of around twenty people, in the middle of the night, with significant material damage.

It is 1 a.m. when his apartment, located in a terraced house on rue des Vignes in Juigné-sur- Sarthe, near Sablé, is set ablaze. The fault was a poorly extinguished cigarette, consumed some time before. The 40-year-old tenant, single, then tried to put out the fire in vain and decided to flee… on a bicycle.
