Several unions have called for a strike and demonstration this Tuesday, October 1, in particular to demand the repeal of the pension reform and an increase in wages. “A first step”
Tuesday “will be a first step ” which “will allow us to count the forces and show our determination”, told AFP the secretary general of the FSU, Benoît Teste. “There is enormous democratic and social anger in the country”, judged Sophie on Sunday Binet in an interview with Le Parisien, the leader of the CGT, who had called for blocking the RN and supported the New Popular Front, points out “the feeling of having been cheated in the last elections”.
What mobilization?
The processions will parade in the morning in Grenoble, Reims, Orléans, Marseille, Rennes or Bordeaux then from 2:00 p.m. in Paris, Toulouse, Strasbourg, Lille or Dunkirk. The CGT lists 185 gatherings. For comparison, the union had more than 200 on May 1 and 250 during the last day of mobilization against pension reform in June 2023. CGT and Sud Rail (Solidaires) are calling on the railway workers to strike, but the SNCF announced on Sunday “normal” traffic for TGVs and slight disruptions for certain regional and Intercity trains.
