Three suspects arrested for attempted murder

On April 19, a 23-year-old man was stabbed in an apartment on Hamilton Street. He was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries, but his life was not feared.

The attempted murder would be linked to the drug scene, but it would be too early to determine a link with the conflict between criminal groups which continues in Quebec, according to the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).

Wednesday afternoon, Sunny Tremblay-Isabelle, Trystan Jacques and another accomplice were arrested in Lévis, in the Saint-Rédempteur sector.

The two men appeared Thursday afternoon at the Quebec courthouse. The third suspect was released on a promise to appear in court. A 43-year-old woman is still wanted by the authorities in connection with these events.

Sunny Tremblay-Isabelle and Trystan Jacques are accused of having committed serious assault on the 23-year-old victim and of breaking into her home.

Tremblay-Isabelle is also accused of death threats and attempted murder by stabbing the same victim.

Jacques is accused of threatening another victim, a man. All these offenses allegedly took place on April 19.

For the moment, the prosecution opposes their release. They will return to court next week.
