The price of cocoa is set at 1800 FCFA per kg, an increase of 20% compared to that of the previous campaign, and that of coffee at 1500 FCFA, an increase of 55%. This announcement was made by the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani this Monday, September 30, 2024 on the occasion of the closing ceremony of the 9th edition of the National Days of chocolate and cocoa (JNCC) for the 2024-2025 campaign which opens Tuesday October 1, 2024.
“With regard to coffee, in order to balance this pair and continue to encourage its production, the Government sets the price of a kilogram of coffee, well dried, well hulled and well sorted at 1,500 CFA francs for the 2024-2025 campaign, an increase of 55% compared to the 2023-2024 campaign” announced Mr. Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani.
Continuing, he indicated that the government of Côte d’Ivoire, as part of strategic cooperation with the government of Ghana, decided to harmonize cocoa production, marketing and pricing policies.
“Also, for the 2024-2025 campaign which opens tomorrow October 1, 2024, and after analysis of the components of the anticipated sale of cocoa, the price of a kilogram of cocoa, well fermented, well sorted and well dried, is set at 1800 CFA francs, an increase of 20% compared to the price of the intermediate campaign which ends today,” declared the minister.
The minister invites all stakeholders to respect these floor prices and calls on the Coffee-Cocoa Council to strengthen surveillance and control systems both within the national territory and at our borders, as well as zero tolerance. towards any violator of these decisions.
