El Jadida – The Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki underlined, Monday in El Jadida, the economic and social importance of the value chain of the equine sector in the Kingdom.
The value chain of the equine sector contributes 0.6 pc to GDP and generates 30,000 jobs, in addition to its role in regional development, noted Mr. Sadiki on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 15th edition of the El Jadida Horse Show, which was chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid.
The Green Morocco Plan (PMV) and the “Green Generation” strategy attach crucial importance to the value chain of the equine sector, added the minister, recalling, in this sense, the program contract signed with the players in the sector during of the 14th edition of the Horse Show for the development of the Barb and Arabian-beard equine breeds and support for the Tbourida sector.
The El Jadida Horse Show contributes greatly to the achievement of these objectives given the promotion that this event offers to the value chain of the equine sector and to related sports both at the national and international level, he noted, noting that no less than 5,000 local horse breeders are taking part in this edition.
Placed under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, the 15th El Jadida Horse Show continues until October 6 under the theme “Equine breeding in Morocco: Innovation and challenge”. Over the years, this event has become an essential platform for meetings and exchanges between different stakeholders in the equine sector.
Initiated by the Horse Show Association, this event, which has acquired an ever-growing national and international reputation, offers a rich and diverse scientific, cultural and fun program.
