The horizon and beyond is GEO’s monthly podcast which focuses on the impact of the ecological transition on our landscapes. For this series, we cross France to discover changing landscapes.
We set out to meet inspiring personalities, who rise to the occasion, go beyond appearances and the obvious – to better understand the challenges of this transition which is disrupting our habits and modifying our horizon.
Last month, we were in Lyon to explore the Confluence district; a neighborhood that wants to be exemplary in environmental matters… But which is not that much! The episode is still available on GEO.fr and your usual streaming platforms, Spotify, Apple Podcast, Amazon Music or Deezer in particular.

But then, if it is so virtuous, why do so many methanizer projects see groups of local residents rise up? Why are these installations the target of criticism relating both to the agricultural model and to the risks they pose to the environment?
To answer these questions, we head to Derval, a town in Loire Atlantique located north of Nantes…
