On the program for this sixth live press review, our journalist Mathieu Ollagnier chose to discuss, among others, these subjects published in our double issue of May 2:

  • Olympic Games 2024: the difficult reconquest of the Seine

Banned from swimming since 1923, the river is to host three Olympic swimming events. But 90 days before the opening of the Games, there are still serious doubts about the quality of the water, despite the commitment of 1.4 billion euros, as reported by our journalist Sébastien Billard.

  • Toomaj Salehi, an Iranian hero

The famous rapper is sentenced to death by an Islamic court in Isfahan for “corruption on earth”, recalls our journalist Sara Daniel in her column. Spokesperson for the Women, Life, Liberty movement, Toomaj Salehi denounces in his songs the crimes of the Revolutionary Guard regime. Also watch the video portrait we dedicated to him:

  • Public debate: “Freedom of expression is better than gagging”

The recent summons by the police of the figures of La France insoumise Mathilde Panot and Rima Hassan relaunch debates on the balance between freedom of expression and the fight against the apology of terrorism. Nicolas Hervieu, a lawyer specializing in freedom law, answered questions from our journalist Mathieu Delahousse.

Q&A with Violette Lazard

To close this live, our journalist Violette Lazard will take part in the question-and-answer game around 1:50 p.m. On the eve of the major trial dedicated to the double assassination at Bastia airport committed in December 2017, she recounts in “The Twilight of the Sea Breeze” (Robert Laffont), the endless vendetta between the opposing clans of the criminal gang. An unusual subject which she will reveal to you behind the scenes.
