Trainline gives some examples. A Metz-Paris ticket booked 11 weeks in advance provided an average saving of 38%, or 22 euros, compared to “only” 16%, or 9.50 euros, 10 weeks in advance. Same observation for a Lyon-Paris journey, with a saving of 20% 11 weeks in advance compared to 12% 10 weeks in advance.
