Diallo and Depussay can count this season
The neo-Bordelais, the English Amadou Diallo (23 years old) was started in official competition for the first time this season. Aligned as a left winger, he gained confidence over the minutes and was able to combine with Trichard in his area of play. He created chances and struck his side by overflowing or by sending balls to the opposite for Bahassa. It is rather a successful first which requires confirmation in N2 with more solid defenses.
The other reinforcement in this match is the presence of a professional central midfielder, Emeric Depussay. The player trained in Bordeaux delivered 2 assists (to Seck and Diaby, Editor’s note) for his official return to the Navy and White jersey in competition. It’s a good complement for Louveau. It also brings percussion and forward races. In addition, he took his chance twice by shooting on goal 20 meters from the cage. He comes out with an injury after receiving a blow in the last minutes of the game. We hope it is not too serious.
Grillot the versatile, Louveau will remain in the middle
Bruno Irlès wants to install Adrien Louveau in the middle, if we doubted it, this Cup match confirms it. The arrival of Depussay provides him with a training environment at his side. In addition, Jean Grillot once again appears as a solution in central defense. He no longer has to help out in the middle of the field. The 18-year-old defender shows his versatility since he started alongside Cédric Yambéré for this 5th round of the Coupe de France. It is an asset for Irlès to be able to count on this type of player, intelligent and able to adapt.
Bahassa also works on the right
Accustomed to his left lane, the arrival of Amadou Diallo shifts Soufiane Bahassa to the right. The player nonetheless loses his sense of the game, his availability and retains the same desire. He scores a goal. Too bad Assogba is not yet at the technical and physical level of Trichard in order to combine with him. Both players have yet to create automatisms.
The state of mind is present
Finally, Bruno Irlès was able to test the state of mind of his players. The latter were serious, as the coach noted at the end of the match: “I saw serious players. I expected no less from them (…) We were serious, which meant that the gap was respected between the two teams. I approached this match to prepare for the Saumur match next week. Our main objective is the championship, and to move forward. Some players were able to have playing time, and a real competitive match. That’s what we wanted this Sunday.”
Bordeaux has 6 days to prepare for the trip to Saumur, and achieve its first victory of the season in this National 2 group B.
