Barely a week after its release, the second part of the “Rebel Moon” saga is already no longer the number 1 film on Netflix in France!
At this stage it is no longer a disappointment, but an industrial disaster. The second part of the film Rebel Moon did not meet with the expected success, with an even worse start than the first part, which had already failed to achieve its objectives. Zack Snyder’s franchise, supposed to span at least six films, already seems doomed…
The adaptation of this cult manga is a hit in France!
In the ultimate affront, the American blockbuster was knocked out of first place in the ranking of the most viewed films on the platform just one week after it was put online. It is in fact the Nicky Larson film, adaptation of the cult manga City Hunterwhich now occupies the number 1 position in the ranking in France.
This new version live-action, the very first in Japanese to see the light of day, sees Ryohei Suzuki lend his features to the famous hero, a sniper coupled with a sex maniac! The Japanese actor also publicly thanked Philippe Lacheau, and credited his film Nicky Larson and the Perfume of Cupid as a direct Source of inspiration for this new version.
Zack Snyder working on two new series
In addition to results well below expectations for such a budget (the sum of $166 million is mentioned for the two films), Rebel Moon is considered by AlloCiné Internet users as one of the worst films directed by Zack Snyder , tied with… Army of the Dead, another Netflix production!
Let’s hope that the filmmaker will obtain better results for his animated series Twilight of the Gods, a fanciful dive into Norse mythology expected at the end of the year on Netflix. The latter is also working on an action series centered on a deserter from the French Foreign Legion, developed in collaboration with his son Eli Snyder.
