Born Chauvin in Pornic (Loire-Atlantique) in 1924, Marie-Thérèse Guilloux celebrated her centenary there on Wednesday April 17, 2024, surrounded by her three children and their spouses.

Among the hostages at Place du Môle in Pornic

Daughter of parents who were greengrocers based on Rue de l’Église, Marie-Thérèse was one of those Pornicais who were held hostage on the Place du Môle on August 26, 1944, an event which had a profound impact on her.

Married to René Guilloux, locksmith and blacksmith in 1947, she worked for many years in establishments Pouvreau from rue du Maréchal Foch, where she was known by the nickname Mamie.

A simple life

Retiring in 1984, she maintained a simple life, taking care of her grandchildren for whom she knitted a lot, while reserving some leisure time in the form of card games at the retirees’ club and a few trips.

Enjoying good health, she continues to lead a peaceful life.

In addition to her son and two daughters, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren were born from her union with René, who died in 2013.
