The woman who was shot at the wheel of her car late Tuesday afternoon in the Côte-des-Neiges sector, in Montreal, is the spouse of the son of a major mobster killed in 2013, according to information from the QMI Agency.
It would be Claudia Iacono, spouse of one of the sons of Moreno Gallo, murdered in Mexico in November 2013.

Considered a major player in organized crime, he settled in Acapulco following his expulsion from Canada in 2012.
Mrs. Iacono was the owner of Salon Deauville.

Several people called 911 around 4:30 p.m. to report that a woman had just been targeted in a parking lot on Jean-Talon Street West, near De la Savane Street.
“When the victim was shot, his vehicle was in motion and collided with a building,” said Sabrina Gauthier, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

When they arrived at the scene, the police were able to see that the victim had indeed been hit by projectiles. His death could only be confirmed.

Witnesses told police the suspect fled on foot. No arrests had been made by late afternoon.
An investigation has been opened to try to find the suspect and determine the causes and circumstances that led to this murder.
