Basketball: detection day at Clément-Marot high school

Wednesday April 24, at the Palais des Sports in Cahors, the U18 Girls and Boys detection day took place for the next school year of the Basketball Sports Section of the Clément Marot high school in Cahors.

From 12:30 p.m., all the candidates were received for a briefing and the presentation of the section; at 1 p.m., the women met on the floor of the Palais while the boys’ individual interviews took place with Stéphanie Lucianaz, PE teacher at Clément Marot and referent of the Section, Sylvain Bossuet and Nicolas Chaudruc, from CahorSauzet Basket, club carrier for the men’s team; at 2:30 p.m., the roles were reversed with the boys in training and the girls’ individual interviews with Stéphanie Lucianaz and Eldon Keïta (Pradines Lot Basket, club supporting the U18 women’s team); at 4 p.m., this intense day ended and all the participants could return home, after receiving a visit from Rémi Poumeyrol, principal of the Clément Marot high school, who came to meet them.

On the boys’ side, 23 practicing applicants plus one injured person present, from the departments of Lot, Tarn & Garonne, Haute Garonne, Aveyron and Corrèze; also note two absent and two injured, i.e. a total of 28 applications received, a number of registrations for detections increasing over the past 3 years; On the girls’ side, only 6 applicants from Lot and Tarn & Garonne, a stable and somewhat struggling demand but which should increase in the future for the benefit of Lot basketball and local clubs supplying talented young players.

The selected players will be informed within a few weeks individually, they will then have to wait until they meet again at the start of the 2024/2025 school year to share a new adventure! Remember that beyond sporting performances, academic records are also part of the determining factors for acceptance of new elements. Sport and Studies, to be reconciled for the best possible future, whether sportingly or professionally!
