US to supply long-range weapons to kyiv
US to supply long-range weapons to kyiv

DLong-range weapons will be supplied to Ukraine by the United States, announced US President Joe Biden on Thursday, September 26, as he is due to meet his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky with Vice President Kamala Harris. Joe Biden also announced military aid of nearly eight billion dollars to kyiv, to face the Russian offensive.

“Today I am announcing increased security assistance to Ukraine and a series of additional actions to help Ukraine win this war,” the White House occupant said in a statement, which did not, however, mention the green light hoped for by kyiv to fire long-range missiles manufactured in the United States towards Russia.

In response to these announcements, the Ukrainian president welcomed this new American aid which he said would promote Ukraine’s “victory” in the war waged against it by Russia. “We will use this aid in the most effective and transparent way to achieve our common main goal: Ukraine’s victory, a just and lasting peace,” he said on Telegram.

Zelensky visits the United States

The American president had promised, on Wednesday evening on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, that he would unveil a “battery of measures designed to accelerate support for the Ukrainian armed forces.” The United States had already announced the sending of 375 million dollars in military aid.
