Record pour Bagnaia

The MotoGP™ riders were back at the Marco Simoncelli circuit in Misano this Friday afternoon for the Practice session of the Pramac Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna. After a fierce battle for the top 10 marked by numerous crashes, it was Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) who left with the best time thanks to a record lap completed in 1’30.286. The number 1 is ahead of the general leader Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac Racing), who fell at the very end of the session. In the lead this morning, Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) is third in this always very intense session.

Quartararo in the top 5

Also at fault, we find Aeneas Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) in fourth position, which gives us the top 4 of the World Championship in the first four places. The local hero is followed by an excellent Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™), who invites himself into Q2 for the second time in a row. Less prominent than two weeks ago, Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing) still ensures the essential with the sixth time ahead of his compatriot Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team), who also validates his ticket for Q2.

The rest of the top 10

Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) is eighth ahead of Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3), who was also trapped this afternoon. Finally, Alex Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) completes the top 10 and places a second Aprilia in Q2, which reassures the Noale factory two weeks after a complicated weekend on the same track. For its part, Johann Zarco (LCR Honda Castrol) posted the 12th fastest time and narrowly missed out on direct qualification. Also notable were the crashes of Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™), Augusto Fernandez (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3), Fabio From Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) and Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) as well as the problem on the machine of Miguel Oliveira (Trackhouse Racing).

MotoGP™ FP2 at Misano will take place on Saturday at 10:10.
