Prediction St Helens – Huddersfield

Arnaud: St Helens
The Giants, who have not tasted victory at the Saints since 2018, would like to break this series, they who are on five consecutive victories in the championship. Manhandled against Leeds, before making a huge comeback at the end of the match to obtain victory, the trip to St Helens will be complicated, and the score will be close. For me, Huddersfield are a bit too will-the-wisp a team, in order to get a hold of St Helens, who have only Super League left to play after their elimination in the Challenge Cup.
Aurélien: St Helens
The Giants are on good momentum. Winners of the far too uninspired Catalan Dragons and a two-speed Leeds team last week, Huddersfield shows that they are not there to make up the numbers. However, there is a step between the soft underbelly and the Top 3 of the Super League. Saints advantage for this match between 2nd and 6th.

Prediction Castleford – London Broncos

Arnaud: Castleford
Important duel on both sides for the last place in the standings. If the Broncos win, they will achieve their first success of the season, while for the Tigers, they would take another lead over London. Castleford should be the winner of the evening, thanks to some individualities.
Aurélien: Castleford
The scary game for the Tigers. A meeting that is important, even capital, to win for both sides. London has yet to win this season. As expected, the promoted team is suffering and clearly does not have the strength to play in the first division.
On the other hand, times are tough for a Castleford that is depleted and devoid of any fundamentals which, despite certain individualities, is not succeeding this season. Advantage all the same for the Tigers who should come out of it but watch out for the London surprise all the same.

Prediction Hull KR – Wigan

Arnaud: Wigan

The Robins have just been spanked in Perpignan, “only” orphans of Mikey Lewis, they hope to recover their playmaker to face Wigan. The Warriors are a real steamroller, being on a back to back mission, they should have no trouble beating Hull KR.

Aurélien: Wigan

Hull KR welcomes the ogre Wigan on their lawn. Slapped against Gilbert Brutus, the Robins will be keen to recover but facing a well-established Wigan team who are perfectly in place, the challenge seems to be a feat. Nothing is decided but even away, I see Wigan winning.

Prediction Leigh – Catalan Dragons

Arnaud: Catalan Dragons

Leigh’s complicated start to the season, with many executives absent, raises questions about last season, if they are not in “second year syndrome”. The team surprises people during a season, and then nothing after that. They were eye-catching against Warrington last week, but it wasn’t enough, and won’t be enough against the Catalan Dragons who got off to a strong start after their disappointment in the Cup. The score is likely to be close but in favor of McNamara’s men.

What a joy to see my opponent vote for once in favor of the only French club involved in the Super League! This should not have happened since the trip to London.

However, it is a perilous trip that awaits the Catalan Dragons this weekend. Going to play at Leigh is never easy, even despite the Leopards’ very poor start to the season. However, the Catalans Dragons are in good form and have slammed their fists on the table by slapping Hull KR at home. Even deprived of its executives, the Catalan franchise is capable of great things and should escape the Leigh trap without Micky McIlorum and Mike McMeeken.

Salford – Warrington Prediction

Arnaud: Warrington

Two teams coming off a narrow victory against teams that were supposed to be much weaker. The pack of Sam Burgess’s gang, author of a very strong start to the season, should take over the Red Devils. Marc Sneyd may be in great shape in 2024, but if this forward duel is lost, he will unfortunately not be able to do anything. This match should be a great game to watch, the last in 2023 between the two teams ended at the golden point with a victory for Salford.

Aurélien: Warrington

The match of all possible for this 9th day. Salford, who are off to a great start to the season, host Warrington who are serious candidates for the title this year. However, this weekend we again saw the full diversity of play that the Wolves were capable of. Salford will put up a fight but are expected to fall at home.

Prognosis Hull FC – Leeds

Arnaud: Leeds

The Airlie Birds are still looking for points, in order to break away from this match with 4 bottom teams. Despite the change of manager, against St Helens, it was practically impossible. Leeds, who are a two-faced team, could be held to a draw by Hull FC. But a manager such as Brodie Croft will not let this happen, the Rhinos having a complicated start to the season, will take advantage of this opposition to take the two points.

Aurélien: Leeds

It’s difficult to bet on Leeds this season as Rohan Smith’s team is capable of the worst as well as the best. Again this weekend, the Rhinos who thought they would get rid of Huddersfield after a masterful first act finally lost at the end of a spectacular match.

8th, they move onto the pitch of Hull FC, penultimate in the ranking which has just fallen heavily on the pitch of the Saints (58-0). The Rhinos should manage to get rid of Hull FC but the risk is always present with this two-speed team.
