Has TF1 finally lined up the right fiction to counter “L'amour est dans le pré” on M6? On Monday evening, the channel topped the ratings with the launch of “Brocéliande”. The back-to-school saga with Nolwenn Leroy, Thomas Jouannet, Arnaud Binard, Marie-Anne Chazel, Catherine Marchal and Lorànt Deutsch intrigued 4.20 million viewers on average between 9:11 p.m. and 11:09 p.m., according to Médiamétrie. This represents 22.7% of the general public aged four and over and 24.9% Women responsible for purchasing under 50 (FRDA-50). On Thursday, January 5, 2023, for information purposes, the first two episodes of the mini-series “The Disappeared of the Black Forest” had convinced 4.74 million viewers on average (26.0% of the public and 24.3% of FRDA-50).
Over the whole day, TF1 flirted with the 20 point audience share mark (19.9% on the 4+ and 21.7% on the FRDA-50). With the strength of 14.1% of the public (8.2% on the FRDA-50), France 2 occupies second place ahead of M6, which exceeds 10 points of audience share (10.5% on the 4+ and 16.8% on the FRDA-50), and France 3 (7.2% 4+ and 2.1% of FRDA-50). Tied at a high level (4.3%), France 5 and TMC dominate C8 (3.7%). Next, in order, are Arte (2.6%), W9 (2.3%) and 6ter (2.0%).

Down on the 4+, “Love is in the meadow” stronger than “Brocéliande” on the FRDA-50
M6 takes second place with “Love is in the meadow”. The fifth part of season 19 of the reality TV show presented by Karine Le Marchand entertained 3.79 million of viewers between 9:13 p.m. and 9:54 p.m., i.e. 18.2% individuals aged four years and over and 27.0% FRDA-50. The second part of the sentimental adventures of the farmers mobilized 3.43 million viewers between 9:55 p.m. and 11:08 p.m., or 19.9% of the audience present in front of their television. The historical saga with Nicolas Duvauchelle and Guillaume Gouix, awarded at the 2024 La Rochelle Fiction Festival, has embarked, on average, 2.33 million viewers between 9:05 p.m. and 10:51 p.m., which is equivalent to 12.0% of the public. On the FRDA-50 target, the market share reaches on average 6.1%. For information, the launch of “Filles du feu”, a historical saga for the 2023 back-to-school season, had bewitched, on average on Monday August 28, 2023, 2.21 million viewers, or 11.3% of the public and 6.9% of FRDA-50.
France 3 then arrives with “Fleuve noir” (2018). The detective film, directed by Erick Zonca and with Romain Duris, Vincent Cassel, Sandrine Kiberlain and Élodie Bouchez in the main roles, brought together 1.25 million of viewers between 9:07 p.m. and 10:56 p.m., i.e. 6.5% individuals aged four years and over and 1.0% FRDA-50. On Sunday March 20, 2022, the same film, broadcast on France 2, had thrilled 2.74 million viewers (13.7% of the public and 7.5% of FRDA-50).

TMC nearly reaches a million, a nice score for the return of “Sur le front” on France 5
In the rest of the prime time offering, “Guardians of the Galaxy” (2014), an American fantasy film directed by James Gunn, enchanted the evening of 981,000 viewers between 9:25 p.m. and 11:08 p.m., or 5.8% from the public on TMC.
France 5 follows with the return of “Sur le front”. The magazine, presented by Hugo Clément on the theme “Cardboard boxes, paper bags: The false good idea?”, informed 823,000 viewers between 9:06 p.m. and 9:59 p.m., or 4.0% ages 4 and up.
In another genre, “The Big Sleep” (1946), directed by Howard Hawks, mobilized 695,000 viewers between 8:58 p.m. and 10:47 p.m. on Arte, which is equivalent to 3.5% of the public. A rerun of “Commissaire Magellan” with Jacques Spiesser finally inspired 601,000 viewers between 9:19 p.m. and 11:05 p.m. on C8, i.e. 3.2% of the public.
